Job Description for Electrical Engineer
Job Location: Reidsville
State: North Carolina

Purpose:

Primary role is to design, develop and maintain electrical equipment, designs and software for aviation refueling equipment.

Education:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (required)

Experience (required - must provide solid examples/proof):
  • 3-5 years relevant manufacturing experience (REQUIRED)
  • AutoCAD, DraftSight or similar (REQUIRED)
  • Designing and integrating control systems (REQUIRED)
    • Hardware (switches, cable harnesses, sensors, valves, linear actuators and other electromechanical devices, hydraulics and pneumatics)
    • Software such as one or more of (PLC, Ladder Logic, CodeSys, Canbus and HMI Programming, C++)
  • Electrical system troubleshooting (REQUIRED)
  • Experience with aviation equipment, automotive, or industrial vehicles (preferred)
  • Electrical systems design experience within a manufacturing setting (preferred)


Experience (desired):
  • 3-5 years design engineering experience
  • Relevant co-op/internship experience
  • ERP system & BOMS creation experience
  • Work experience with larger organization (smaller projects with lower impact & visibility)


Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

  • Ability to complete projects through all aspects of spec reviews with customers, design, and hand-off to manufacturing and product life-cycle management
  • Implement processes and procedures, and effective project documentation
  • Ability to effectively transform a vision into reality and successfully execute/integrate cross functionally
  • Willingness to work cross functionally and communicate clearly on roadblocks and project status
  • Ability to prioritize the critical few and communicate the importance of execution of the critical few
  • Ability to identify complex problems and (creatively) develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues


Job Duties (working within the engineering team and cross functionally with operations, procurement, quality, service, sales & customers):
  • Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, or industrial purposes.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
  • Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
  • Supervise or train project team members as necessary.
  • Investigate or test vendors' or competitors' products.
  • Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
  • Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.
  • Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.
